Sonic Works has successfully completed many types of projects, our adaptability is reflected in the type of clients we have worked with. These have included individual composers and artists to large corporations.

Having a wide range of skills has given us the opportunity to provide our clients with full technical and creative support. Our web sites have included many dynamic elements, such as content management, local database driven product galleries, automatic quote handling and PDF creation.

As a multimedia company we do not exclusively work on Internet based projects. We are equally adept at creating installations at the 'South bank Center' (London, UK), producing interactive CD-ROMs for the 'London Symphony Orchestra' or creating 3D interactive training systems for E-learning companies.

Multimedia and Internet solutions since 1997

Aldeburgh Festival is a world famous music venue based in Suffolk. This site is based around a bespoke content management system.

The London Sinfonietta are Britain's premiere contemporary music ensemble. This site has many interactive and educational features, as well a simple online shopping cart system.

We have developed a wide range of projects for many clients who we have achieved a long term relationship with. These projects include design, development, hosting and long term support.

Denton-Antiques are a highly regarded chandelier and antiques company based on Kensington High Street, London. We designed and developed this database driven site.

Denton-Antiques were using an old 'Access' database to store simple product information, this was used to search for products within their shops. We rebuilt their database to allow for greater searching, creation of automatic quotes, invoices and product sheets, plus the ability to store product photos.

The local database then updates an online database (including photo management), which then powers the web site hosted and support by us.

The web sites features include :- database driven product flash gallery, multiple search options, quotation builder (shopping cart), automatically created PDF's and quotation customer forms.

This site is database driven, with a content management system built with ColdFusion. This allows staff to edit content, upload photos, create and edit formatted event listings, manage searchable categories, manage mailing lists, optimize database and customize staff access levels to protected areas. The main dynamic content of the site are the events (link), which is updated by Aldeburgh staff using the online protected admin sections. This requires no html knowledge as it is all form driven.

Other site features include:- education forums, video clips, secure forms, panoramic views and protected press pages. Sonic Works also installed web cams overlooking the broads, which are still uploading photographs 3 years on.

Sonic Works (with Sound Intermedia) has enjoyed a long term and successful working relationship with the London Sinfonietta orchestra. Sonic Works initially produced their web site and since then a series of interactive elements, Internet and local applications (see multimedia section).

Flash Jukebox, e-commerce, forums, interactive educational micro sites, polling, search and a protected friends sections.

With Sound Intermedia, Sonic Works designed and developed an interactive CD-ROM, based around Benjamin Britten's 'Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra'. The CD was a collaboration between Shell and the London Symphony Orchestra. (40,000 copies distributed)

Utilizing our technical and creative skills, we have collaborated with many clients to produce interesting and varied types of projects. These projects have included Internet, live projections, installations, kiosks, CD-ROMs, CBT, 3D presentations and many other elements.

Sonic Works has developed many interactive projects with the London Sinfonietta, including live concert projections, installations and for their web site.

As a forward thinking contemporary orchestra, the London Sinfonietta are not afraid to use technology in new and exciting ways, whilst not compromising their high artistic standards. We have helped the London Sinfonietta over many years utilize various technologies.

Crafted with technological innovation that Berio himself would have greatly enjoyed, the lounge offers hands-on insight and illuminates the composer and his music in a way that newcomers and aficionados alike can enjoy." RFH web site

Audio and interactive multi-format (PC/Mac) computer CD ROM / CD Audio based on Britten's 'Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra' .

A 'Director' based interactive multimedia CD, given away free (~ 40,000 copies). The user can play the audio track from their audio CD player or use it as a multimedia program in their PC or Mac.

SONIC WORKS PROJECTS - Audio

We have provided film, video and multimedia companies with tailor made sound effects and music for the specific projects. Our projects have included bespoke sound effects for a simple CD-ROMs to the soundtrack to a short film.

Our knowledge of audio and technology has been useful for clients wishing to solve specific and unique problems. These have included Warp records, London Sinfonietta and the Royal Festival Hall.

Our blend of technology and creativity is demonstrated with our knowledge and passion for music and sound. Sonic Works was originally a dedicated audio company and multimedia developed from there. With many years of experience working with the live contemporary sound company 'Sound Intermedia', Sonic Works offers many audio based services.

Working with 'Sound Intermedia' we have recorded and edited educational workshops for many orchestras on location. Sonic Works has also provided complete voiceover services for film and multimedia companies. We have the equipment available for most recording, editing and mastering needs.

This is venture that Kaptive and Sonic Works are currently developing. Based on the widely available 'Shockwave 3D' platform, demonstrations can be played back on PC, Mac and the Internet. This technology can be developed for a variety of projects.

The ability to allow the user to explore and interact with the 3D environment or product freely.

Fly through demonstrations

Lets the user follow a predefined path around the environment or product. This can still utilize many forms of interaction.

Technical Demonstration

This gives the ability to show complex machines and processes, guiding the user step by step. By using full interaction this can be a powerful training method.

Utilizing some of the above methods, the 3D interactive demonstrations can be a valued tool for a variety of clients including:- engineering,

architectural, CBT and product designers.
